This is based on the 1997 movie "Contact", the scene where Ellie meets makes contact with the alien in a surreal environment, fabricated from her mind—daytime on land, nighttime in the sky.

Been wanting to do this since summer... finally got around to it. This is my first work I've done using my recently purchased Wacom Intuos 4, and also my first attempt at creating a galaxy.

I will be releasing a wallpaper pack for this soon, and will accommodate resolutions up to 2560x1600.

omg, thank you soooo much for creating this with such loving detail. words could never explain... it wouldn't have mattered, even if they HAD sent a poet. I can even hear that beautiful ambient sound behind the waves when I stare at this...
